The Russian military shelled Nikopol and the energy infrastructure of the region: details from the prosecutor's office

That night, the enemy covered the area seven times with fire from "Hrads" and heavy artillery. More than 100 shells were fired at peaceful Nikopol. One of them flew directly into a private house. Wounded a 6-year-old girl and her 32-year-old mother. They and another injured woman are now in the hospital. All are in serious condition in the hospital.

According to these facts, an investigation has been started. This was reported by the press service of the Dnipro regional prosecutor's office.

According to the investigation, on the night of October 12, 2022, the Russian military carried out an artillery bombardment of Nikopol from RSZV. As a result, three townspeople were injured, including a 6-year-old child.

Private and high-rise residential buildings, commercial buildings, two enterprises, a kindergarten, a lyceum, a hospital, shops, power lines, and a gas pipeline were damaged.

Also in the morning, the occupiers shelled the energy infrastructure in the Kamian district. Information about the destruction is being clarified.

Under the procedural guidance of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Prosecutor's Office and the Zhovtovod District Prosecutor's Office, a pre-trial investigation is carried out in criminal proceedings based on the fact of violation of the laws and customs of war (Part 1, Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
