In the first half of 2022, children were most often called by popular names. Among the rare names are Domicelia, Theona, Lord and Elvis. This is reported by the Informator.
Most often, girls were called: Anastasia, Alice, Anna, Victoria, Veronika, Daryna, Emilia, Eva, Zlata, Sofia, Solomiya, Maria, Marta, Milana, Yana.
Names were chosen for boys: Artem, Artur, David, Danilo, Dmytro, Zakhar, Lev, Luka, Maxim, Matvii, Marko, Oleksandr, Timofey.
Newborn girls were also called by rare names: Agatha, Adele, Amura, Adeoina, Amira, Gabriela, Domicelia, Zola, Katalina, Milada, Nastasya, Stefania, Talvina, Teona, Tessa, Timea, Tamila, Uma, Feodora.
Rare and unusual names for boys were: Adam, Arai, Arkhip, Benjamin, Bohuslav, Elvis, Ilariy, Ilyas, Kuzma, Lord, Moses, Marcel, Matfiy, Mert, Milan, Omelyan, Tamerlan, Thor, Tristan, Florian.

In general, the majority of Ukrainians prefer traditional names when choosing names for their babies, the department noted.
