Ban operations on children's genitals: the petition cannot be registered

The website of petitions to the President of Ukraine rejects the publication of petitions demanding to ban the practice of infant circumcision for boys. The author of the initiative, blogger Kostenko, reports this on his TikTok and Instagram pages. About this write Nikopol Today. 

Why is the problem relevant? We are talking about operations on children's bodies, which are done by the decision of the parents, without taking into account the child's opinion. Circumcision of the foreskin leads to a decrease in the sensitivity of the head of the penis. This operation is not necessary for the boys' health. Rare exceptions are cases when there are certain violations in the structure of the organ that lead to discomfort and other problems. Then the operation is necessary; in all other cases - only harms men.

The movement for women's rights around the world is fighting for the prohibition of involuntary operations on female genital organs. In particular, the "traditions" of some peoples include circumcision of a woman's clitoris. Whereas the problem of male circumcision is not talked about and is considered the norm.

In Ukraine, they tried to register a petition with the demand to ban this practice for underage boys. Instead, the petition portal issues a refusal to register such a petition. We checked and tried to register a similar petition as well and got rejected as well. The call center of the President's Office does not accept calls and refuses to explain the reason for such refusal.
