The intelligence service called the actions of the Russians at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant nuclear blackmail

Aggressive Moscow continues its nuclear blackmail tactics, using the occupied Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, as well as the territory of Belarus where Russian nuclear weapons may be located. This was stated by the representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Andriy Yusov in an interview with Anastasia Katerynchuk.

“A whole range of norms and standards for nuclear safety in the nuclear power plant are no longer provided by the occupying power. What they are doing all the time with our nuclear power plant in Zaporozhye is nuclear blackmail: this is the deployment of forces and resources, weapons there; it is also the implementation of shelling from and in the Nuclear power plant area; it is the terror of the power plant crew and many other factors,” said a representative of Ukraine's military intelligence.

According to Andriy Yusov, blackmailing the ZNPP and other occupied critical infrastructure facilities is related to Russia's awareness that sooner or later they will have to withdraw from the occupied territories of Ukraine.

“The most important thing that every Ukrainian and the whole world should understand is that in Kakhovka, at the Crimean Titan power plant and throughout Ukraine, safety, including environmental and nuclear safety, will be guaranteed at these facilities when they are returned to Ukraine's control and legitimate authority. As long as there are Russian terrorists there, the threat will exist,” emphasized the representative of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

Andriy Yusov noted that the enemy's statements about the possible deployment of nuclear weapons on the territory of Belarus are also an element of Moscow's blackmail. At the same time, neither the Belarusian dictator Lukashenko nor anyone else in the country is able to influence the deployment, use or fate of Russian nuclear weapons.

“Of course, the Belarusian people are being held hostage again, now with an element of nuclear argument, nuclear blackmail. It does not threaten anything additional for Europe, for NATO, for Ukraine. But Putin shows, they say, that he can still take a few steps on the chessboard,” Andriy Yusov explained, adding that Russians are expected to dance with a nuclear tambourine in Belarus.

“Despite all the dancing with the tambourine, now nuclear tambourine, an important factor for Ukraine remains that Belarus is not engaged in a full-scale Russian ground war against Ukraine, and there are no signs of it. Do you want to scream, swing your fists, threaten someone or move your mustache menacingly? Well, please,” summed up the GUR representative of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
