Shelling in Nikopol on November 12, 2023: over a year of destruction and suffering

According to Mayor Oleksandr Sayuk, on November 12, 2023, Nikopol was heavily shelled. It was a difficult day for the residents, as the enemy actively used barrel artillery and kamikaze drones. Despite the intensity of the shelling, no civilian casualties or injuries were reported.

As a result of the shelling, buildings and infrastructure were damaged: one skyscraper, four private residential buildings, two farm buildings, and power lines. These events caused significant damage and further complicated the lives of local residents.

Nikopol faces intense shelling: Mayor urges vigilance and community support

The mayor appealed to the residents of Nikopol not to ignore alarm signals, as the threat of shelling remains high. He also wished them good night and noted that citizens could seek assistance from their local call center, which is open during limited hours.

The head of DniproOVA also reported that the occupiers were actively attacking the Nikopol region during the day. They used kamikaze drones and heavy artillery to shell the district center and the community of Marganets. Despite the shelling, there are no reports of casualties among the local population.

The situation in Nikopol remains tense, and local authorities and security agencies continue to work to ensure the safety of citizens. During this difficult time, community support and unity are important.

The city of Nikopol lies at the mostly dried-up Kakhovka Reservoir, just across the Russian-occupied Enerhodar and Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. It is a regular target of Russian attacks.
