Ukrinform reported that on Sunday Russian troops attacked the center of Konstantynivka in the Donetsk region. Three people were initially reported dead.
By afternoon, the death toll had risen to six.
According to the latest figures, eight civilians are seriously injured by shrapnel. "Everyone is provided with medical assistance" - reports Jermak on an ongoing basis.
According to the politician, the Russians hit the city with two S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems and fired four missiles from Uragan missile launchers.
“Russian shelling damaged 16 apartment buildings, eight houses, a kindergarten, the building of the State Tax Inspectorate, gas installations in the city and several cars,” Yermak wrote on Telegram.
This is not the only Ukrainian town that faces an attack by Russian troops on Sunday. Explosions were also heard in Melitopol in the Zaporizhia region.
Ivan Fedorov quoted by the Ukrinform agency said that there were six explosions in the locomotive depot. In this place, “the enemy has set up workshops for repairing military equipment, as well as a fuel and ammunition warehouse" – explained the mayor.
This is the second series of explosions in the area, the first occurred earlier this week, Fedorov added. He stipulated that he was waiting for information on the effects of Sunday's explosions.
