NATO wants to stop Russia: the media talked about the plans of the Alliance

In particular, in the coming months, the military-political bloc intends to intensify efforts to concentrate forces on the eastern frontiers of the Alliance in order to prevent Russia from extending the war beyond the borders of Ukraine.

According to the publication, NATO plans to deploy up to 300,000 troops on the border of Russia, which will be able to quickly come to the aid of the allies. Former NATO Deputy Secretary General Heinrich Brauss explains that there are several levels of preparedness.

The first assumes the presence of 100,000 soldiers ready to be deployed within 10 days. This contingent may be formed from the military countries of the Baltic states, Poland and Norway. It may also include multinational battlegroups that NATO has already established on its eastern flank.

The second tier could consist of fighters from countries such as Germany and should be ready for deployment in 10 to 30 days.

"To implement this plan, NATO will need to convince individual countries to provide various elements: troops, training, infrastructure and a lot of expensive weapons, equipment and ammunition," Politico writes.
