In Nikopol, the employment program of the city's population for 2023-2027 was approved

The Department of Social Policy of the Nikopol City Council and the Nikopol City and District Employment Center developed the Population Employment Program, the implementation of which is calculated from 2023 to 2027.

Nikopol.City journalists got acquainted with the Passport of the program, which was approved by the Nikopol City Council on December 22, 2022.

The purpose of the Program is to implement in the city of Nikopol the main directions of state policy in the sphere of population employment by ensuring social protection of unemployed persons and persons who have additional guarantees in the promotion of employment, - the developers emphasize.

What will be provided by the Program?

According to the document, the implementation of the Program should ensure the employment of the unemployed in existing and created new jobs, support for the development of small businesses and self-employment of the population through the payment of one-time unemployment benefits for the organization of one's own business, professional training and competitiveness of the economically active population, detinization of labor relations and strengthening motivation for legal productive employment, promotion of youth employment, employment of citizens unable to compete on an equal footing in the labor market.

Economic and social development of the city until 2027 in accordance with the Program

The main goal of the Program's implementation is to increase the level and quality of life of the population, comply with social guarantees, implement the appropriate legal framework, and ensure the harmonious development of the individual at the expense of stable economic growth.

The basis of economic stability will remain the development of the metallurgical complex, its modernization and further introduction of high-tech processes, - the document emphasizes.

One of the priorities is to increase the role of small business

As the initiators of the Program note, one of the directions of ensuring employment of the population is increasing the role of small businesses in the structural restructuring of the city's economy. For this, a number of measures will be implemented, including the introduction of public-private partnership through the stimulation of investment and innovative activity in the field of small entrepreneurship, the provision by the Employment Center of one-time assistance for starting their own business to the unemployed who wish to engage in entrepreneurial activity;

It is noted that conditions will be created for legalizing labor relations and increasing the level of social responsibility of small businesses by providing financial, resource, information and personnel support to small business entities.

Activities provided for by the Program

To achieve the goal of the Program, certain activities will be carried out, including, for example:

- assistance by the Employment Center to the employment of persons who applied to the employment service for vacant and newly created jobs by providing a one-time payment of unemployment benefits for the organization of entrepreneurial activity at the expense of the funds of the Mandatory State Social Insurance Fund of Ukraine in case of unemployment;

- organization of paid public works for: unemployed and (or) employees who have lost part of their wages, provision of methodical and organizational assistance to employers in this matter;

- strengthening of social partnership between local self-government bodies and business entities on issues of legalization of labor relations with employees.

Developers also pay attention to the employment of persons with IDP status. Educational seminars, trainings on the basics of business and starting a business are planned for them.
