Earthquake in northern Poland. The earthquake with a magnitude of 2.3 was severely felt by the inhabitants of Bornholm, Danish media reported. According to experts, the epicenter was in the northern part of our country, about 150 kilometers from the island.
According to TV 2/Bornholm journalists and local residents, the tremors came in waves and caused windows, walls and even silos in Nexø Harbor to vibrate.
“We are currently receiving several reports of earthquakes in eastern Bornholm. We are further investigating the matter in close cooperation with the relevant authorities and will provide an update when we have further information” the Bornholm Police Twitter account said at 3:50 p.m.
According to local media, despite the passing hours, there is still no specific information about the causes of the incident.
“We do not yet know the exact cause of the tremors that hit the eastern coast of Bornholm this afternoon. We continue to cooperate with the relevant authorities. As soon as we have further information on this matter, we will inform you about it” – reads the police release.
Almost immediately, it was alleged in the Danish media that the tremors could be related to the ANAKONDA-23 military exercises conducted at the training ground in Ustka.

Over 12 000 Polish soldiers and several hundred from NATO and partner countries participated in the active part of the exercise. Heavy equipment and aviation were also used.
